How can Despammed help?
When you sign up with Despammed.com, you request and are given a special new address your_user@despammed.com. This address is an alias; any mail sent to your despammed.com address is first checked by our filters, and if it passes all the tests we throw at it, we forward it to your forwarding address (if you provided us with one during the registration process). Most spam fails one or more of our tests, so effectively, you just plain don't get spam.

It's important to realize that mail sent directly to your current address will not magically be sent through our filters. Thus if you already have a spam problem with an existing address, there is very likely nothing we can do about it. If your mail provider supports forwarding, then in some cases you can create a third (secret) mailing account with a third party, then forward your existing mail through us to the new address. However, our filters are rather picky, so you have to decorate the address you forward to using the address you're forwarding from. For example, if your Despammed userid is george and you are forwarding your mail from georgesmail@myisp.com, you would have to use a forwarding address of
george.georgesmail.myisp.com@despammed.com
If you don't do this, you won't get spam, but you won't get anything else, either.
